Wine List

Wines By The Bottle - European Wines - Red Wines

These are the wines of Yves’ heritage. They are the wines he grew up with; that were on the table with the evening meal. From France to Italy to Spain and Germany the wines of Europe offer a range of styles that is immeasurable. Please enjoy these selections with our Signature Dishes.

Beaujolais-Villages, “40 Ecus,” Henry Fessy

$21.00

We have a handful of guests that will tell you that Beaujolais is the best wine to drink while at the Bistro. We certainly can’t disagree and this is one lip-smacker wine!

Regnard, Pommard, 1998

$59.00

This area of Burgundy, produces some of the biggest Pinot Noirs. It is a very concentrated wine with layers of intense fruit, toasted oak and a lingering finish.

Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Domaine du Vieux Lazaret, 2000

$32.00

Yves loves a great Chateauneuf. This is an excellent choice from an excellent vintage. Fine aromas of plum and spice enhanced by silky tannins and lingering flavors.

Gigondas, “Pierre Aiguille,” Paul Jaboulet, 1998

$37.00

The neighbor of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, this wine has a softer appeal with a touch of brighter cherry fruit and nuances of the Terroir of the region.

Chateau Cantemerle, Haut-Medoc, 1998

$40.00

Bordeaux can be confusing, intimidating, and expensive. Yves loves this little Chateau that produces a consistently complex and affordable wine. We think you will agree.

Chianti Classico, Toscolo, 2000

$24.00

This single vineyard Chianti Classico is a classic (no pun intended) with gentle scents of cherry preserve, spice and saddle leather. Very elegant and silky on the palate.

Amarone Classico, Campagnola, 1999

$48.00

Finding a rich Amarone that he could offer for less than several hundred dollars was a mission for our faithful Proprietor. Here you have it. Voluptuous and alluring.

Rioja, Bodegas Breton, “Lorinon,” Tinto Crianza, 1999

$21.00

Rioja is the great red wine of Spain. A juxtaposition of elegance and strength, the wine displays soft, bing cherry notes supported by American oak and spice nuances.

Tinto Pesquera, A. Fernandez, Ribera del Duero, 1999

$29.00

Consistently one of the finest Spanish wines produced! Deep, dark, aromatic and mellow with layers of flavor. We had a heckuva time getting Yves to share this one!
